Grand Unifying Guesses/Chaos

Chaos is the universal force for everything against order. It also exists in more than one form

Such Forms include

• The Force of Chaos in Sailor Moon, very much the "Dark Side" in that continuity.
• The Chaos in the Chaos Emeralds, in the Sonic the Comic continuity, Super Sonic is an insane super forum that's anything but good. In other continuites, they serve to bring order to the chaos.
• Chaos itself, this side to Chaos is the side that represents that order itself is not inherently good, that Chaos must happen for order to be (to wit, Dark Is Not Evil)
• The Shadows in the Persona continuity. Summed up by the fact that in P4, they go beserk when there is calm in the TV World.
• All "Dark" alliances in the Mega Ten continuites.
• Chaos in Warhammer40000 is the particularly evil side.
• Spiral Power.

And so on.

Chaos is the universal force, including order.

• Every attempt to bring order will sooner or later end in Chaos or will spread Chaos elsewhere. Most people just don't realize it because they tend to exist in relatively ordered environments. Some apparent forces of "order" (such as, for example, Knights Templar or most kinds of Utopia Justifies the Means) might are Chaos' efforts to spread itself.
  • This is based on fact (Chaos Theory, aka the Butterfly Effect). Order is simply the act of storing chaos for personal use.
  • "Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized."
  • Well, Chaos was the primordial matter where the cosmos and all the gods emerged. Oh, and that counts Haruhi Suzumiya.
  • Why do we see Order in Chaos, then? Even though Chaos is everywhere, sentient beings tend to see patterns and forms that wouldn't even really exist in the first place (Gestalt psychology in short), and they make wild theories and new ideas based on the perceived pattern. Perhaps sentient beings are just controlled chaos themselves (such as the existence of Insanity).
    • If one would go by Freudian psychiatry, we are a form of a sealed chaos in a can, said chaos being the "Id" and the can (the outside you) being the "Ego"
  • Note that the Discordians actually believe this is the case.

Certain people, in certain places are forever locked in a conflict between Law and Chaos.

• Arguably, Haruhi Suzumiya is Chaos, Kyon is Law.
• According to Friedrich Nietzsche, the Apollonian-Dionysian conflict: Apollo is Law, Dionysus is Chaos.
• Naruto: Naruto is Chaos, Sasuke is Law.
• The ninja vs pirate debate: Pirates are Chaos, Ninja are Law. (Obviously this doesn't cover the above example.)
  • Or Ninja as a group are Law, there's just the minority of them that are Chaos. (Like Naruto)
    • Much like there's a minority of pirates that are Law (for example, British privateers)
• And of course, there's no forgetting the endless conflict between the gods, Cosmos and Chaos.
