Fiona Coyne
Fiona Coyne (Seasons 9- )
Played by Annie Clark
“There's something wrong with me, Mom. Everyone knows it. And no amount of therapy's gonna change that.”
Unlike her twin brother Declan, Fiona isn't charming and sociable and deals with crippling loneliness. She had a dependency on Declan and couldn't stand to come second in his life. She also had a penchant for being a drama queen. In season 10, after some much needed therapy, she is a lot happier but unfortunately gained an abusive boyfriend. She later runs away to Toronto to find solace with Holly J and she transfers back to Degrassi. She was an alcoholic, and after her first stint in rehab and personal discovery, she comes to terms that she is a lesbian. She is still very lonely, and attaches herself too quickly to people. An unfortunately due to all the time she missed, she has to repeat her senior year in season 11. But she is in a better place emotionally, and has a found a new girlfriend in Imogen.

- Hoist By Her Own Petard: In Takes Manhattan, her twincestual kiss with Declan was meant to drive Holly J away, and make she and Jane leave New York for good. This doubly backfires on her in that Declan sees her true colours, and she is the one who's sent to Long Island for the summer for therapy.

- I Just Want to Have Friends
- Incompatible Orientation: with Holly J and subverted with Imogen as Imogen returns her feelings.
- Incest Subtext: With Declan.

Eli Goldsworthy
Elijah "Eli" Goldsworthy (Season 10- )
Played by Munro Chambers
"It's not fair...why should I get to be happy?"
A dark and mysterious student introduced in season 10. He started a relationship with Clare Edwards after bringing her feelings out in a writing assignment. Eli harbored deep guilt over the death of his first girlfriend, Julia. Due to the guilt, he compulsively hoards and has sociopathic tendencies. But he is also intelligent, creative and funny which leads to Clare falling in love with him. She is also understanding of his issues, until a school bully interferes with their relationship. The worst side of Eli comes out and he scares Clare so badly she breaks it off with him. After the break up, Eli is despondent and on medication. When he is put in charge of the school play, he stopped taking his meds to flourish his creativity. After he has a meltdown on stage, he finally seeks help and is diagnosed as bipolar and works to overcome the illness and stigma.

- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Eli is a dark loner type character who drives a hearse. Kind of like someone from a movie most Degrassi fans have never seen.
- Drama Club
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette
- Emo Teen: Borders on this somewhat at times, especially as of late...
- Emotionless Boy: First part of Season 11, with the new meds.
- Estrogen Brigade Bait: Probably this show's biggest example since Craig Manning. A greater-than-usual number of girls changed their Fanfiction.net usernames to something related to Eli or Eli and Clare together early on in The Boiling Point.
- Expy: Teen Nick.com revealed he is directly inspired from Ellie, right down to their similar names. As of the first part of Don't Panic, we can safely call Eli an Expy of Craig, given Eli's diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
- The First Cut Is the Deepest: Despite his feelings for Clare, Eli still isn't quite over Julia.
- Freudian Trio: On Eli's one side we have Clare, his other side Adam. Clare picks her path by reason and objective detachment. Adam's view is just as emotionally vested as Eli's.

- Yandere: Made extremely obvious.
Bianca De Sousa
Bianca DeSousa (Season 10- )
Played by Alicia Josipovic
"Someone needs to tell that girl that putting out doesn't solve problems."
Bianca has a lot of attitude and comes with lot of trouble. Since her introduction, she's dealt diet pills to Jenna, fought with Alli and gave Drew shrooms. She is also has no qualms with messing around with other girls' boyfriends, which leads to her less-than-stellar reputation. She actually has gang connections, something she wants to stay in the past. However, her past comes back and ensnares both her and Drew in her gang-banger world. She tries her best to shield Drew from the situation, even after Drew breaks up with her. She has a tough exterior, but she is very thankful for Drew's defense and is in love with hm. She can be a very caring person. She is now working on improving her situation and getting her life back on track.

- The Atoner
- Break the Haughty
- Broken Bird
- Deadpan Snarker: Big time. "Katie! Clare! Sacrifice yourselves!"
- Gang of Bullies: With Fitz and Owen.
- The Bully
- Character Development: In Season 10, she was a real bitch to anyone who crossed her. After revealing her past in season 11, she's protecting Drew, showing an interest in and apologizing to Adam, making friends with Imogen, and improving her life situation.
- Dark and Troubled Past
- Delinquent
- Dropped a Bridget on Her: She flirts with Adam until she discovers that he's biologically female. She doesn't take the news well.
- Expy: An admitted expy of Jay. She's also quite similar to Alex: a tough girl who throws punches instead of just making catty remarks, wears big hoop earrings, and has an Spanish-sounding last name.
- Faux Action Girl: Completely tough girl, yet from what it seemed to be, Alli almost takes her out.
- Heel Face Turn
- Hidden Talents: She can make jewelry.
- Jerkass/Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's mean and catty when we first meet her, but she's very much the latter as time goes on, especially when it comes to Drew. Case in point, season 11, when she protects Drew by indulging Anson. She also tries, in vain, to convince Anya not to snort cocaine.
- Jerkass Has a Point: She can dish out good advice under the guise of her jerkiness.
- The Ladette
- Mean Character, Nice Actor: Alicia Josipovic has gone on record saying that she has nothing in common with Bianca, and that she would never be like that in real life. Here's proof.
- Near-Rape Experience

- Pitbull Dates Puppy: She's the pitbull.
- Really Gets Around: Although she was very faithful to Drew.

- Spicy Latina
- The Vamp
- Tsundere: Especially in the first half of Season 11, her soft side comes shining through for Drew. Probably more Dere Dere than Alex, her predecessor.
- Unresolved Sexual Tension: With Drew, especially with Katie still in the picture.
Drew Torres
Andrew "Drew" Torres (Season 10- )
Played by Luke Bilyk
“This crazy stuff never happened to me before you came along.”
Drew is a New Transfer Student to Degrassi in season 10 and his step-brother is Adam. He strives to be Big Man on Campus and is willing to do anything to get that title. He's not bright, and his mother is pushing him and controlling his entire high school career. He resented Alli Bhandari for doing his school assignment but eventually they become a couple. That is, right before he cheats on her with Bianca and gained a "gross-by-association" reputation with the girls at Degrassi. In season 11, he deals with the baggage Bianca came with, mainly her gang connections and getting the tar beat out with him. The incident gives him post traumatic stress disorder, and he finds scary ways to bring it out, such as joining an underground MMA fight club. But with Katie's help, he mellows out and the two start dating -- with Bianca close by.
- The Ace
- Book Dumb
- Big Brother Instinct: Whenever Adam is in extreme trouble.
- Bullying a Dragon: When he blackmailed Riley. He ended up bubble wrapped to a flag pole in his underwear.
- Chick Magnet
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He isn't too smart, and got his ass beaten a lot of times, but when he started fighting, he was a serious threat with his unchecked rage.
- The Dulcinea Effect: Subverted, at the beginning he would do anything to defend Bianca, a girl whom didn't know personally outside of the boiler room and now as he learns of her past, not so much.
- Knight in Shining Armor: But even after everything he knows about Bianca and how much trouble she landed him in, and the fact he has a girlfriend, he's still willing to help her and defend her from the gang.
- Estrogen Brigade Bait
- Eternally Pearly-White Teeth
- Freak-Out: After his run in with the gang members, he returns to school with a lot of paranoia on his shoulders.
- Heroic BSOD
- Hitler Ate Sugar: Since his boiler-room activities with Bianca, he has now gained a reputation along with her.
- I'm a Man, I Can't Help It: Literally his excuse for cheating on Alli.
- Jerkass/Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Slides in between these two tropes.
- Kick the Dog | Pet the Dog: Also slides on either side of these tropes. He has his good moments when he stands up for other people, but also on the other side of the coin, he can be inconsiderate Jerkass who doesn't take other people's feelings into consideration.
- The Loins Sleep Tonight: Didn't exactly get it up for Bianca. Didn't even last 30 minutes.
- Manipulative Bastard
- Meddling Parents: At least his mom, who he cannot stand up to.
- Mushroom Samba
- Necktie Leash: Not exactly a necktie, but Bianca does drag Drew along by the collar in Chasing Pavements...

Owen Milligan
Owen Milligan (Season 10- )
Played by Daniel Kelly
“You threw Zane in a dumpster, you harassed Riley, and you're a creepy homophobe who likes to upset people. Why not grope a girl?”
Owen is a jock at Degrassi. He doesn't have the best reputation with the female student body: he makes homophobic jokes, he nearly forced himself on Alli, and he is just a general creep. Despite his creeper status, Anya ends up dating him after he reveals he genuinely likes her. He is a pervert, but he does have a vulnerable side and can be a nice guy. It's just way, way, deep down.
- Aloof Older Brother: Towards Tristan.
- Attempted Rape
- The Bully
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Anya.
- Deadpan Snarker: To a degree.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: To Anya when he's training her for the military.
- Easily Forgiven: In season 10, he bullies Adam, comes close to forcing himself on Alli, harrases Riley and Zane and sexually harasses Anya. In season 11 he's hanging out with Drew, dating Anya and Riley seemingly has no problem with his best friend taking the guy who threw his boyfriend in a dumpster to prom.
- Even Evil Has Standards: He refuses to take drugs of any kind.
- Fake Guest Star: In season 10, before being bumped up to regular in season 11.
- Gang of Bullies: With whoever will work with him.
- Handsome Lech: Girls are shown to be somewhat creeped out by him, as by his latest appearance, but his looks qualify him as this instead of another Leisure Suit Larry.
- Jerk Jock/Jerkass
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He genuinely cares about Anya.
- Pet the Dog: He looks out for Tristan, albeit begrudgingly.
- Promotion to Opening Titles
- Would Hit a Girl: At least, a boy who is still biologically female.
Marisol Lewis
Marisol Lewis (Season 10- )
Played by Shanice Banton
“I was on Power Squad, KC. I know her type. I was her type!”
Marisol is one of the popular girls at Degrassi and on the Power Squad. She is bubbly and just a little air-headed. Marisol is more geared to the social aspects of Degrassi and she also loves to have fun. She is a major flirt, and comes in between KC and Jenna when KC is tired of his responsibilities as a teen father. She nearly ends her friendship with Katie over Drew, but she is loyal to her friend to the end. Despite her fun-loving attitude and ditzy demeanor, she is also not hesitant to be the Alpha Bitch at Degrassi.
- A Friend in Need: She is fiercely loyal to Katie, no matter what they do to they each other.
- All Guys Want Cheerleaders
- Alpha Bitch: Popular cheerleader, new head of Power Squad and comfortably sits in the slot after Holly J leaves.

Imogen Moreno
Imogen Moreno (Season 11- )
Played by Cristine Prosperi
“That girl is psycho.”
Quirky, artistic girl introduced in season 11. She dresses in an unusual way, and has a million and one idiosyncrasies. She is also unpopular at Degrassi due to her quirks, but she doesn't let that bother her. She had a deep interest in Eli, and she's crushed over him for awhile. When the chance comes, she took the initiative to drive Clare and Eli further apart so she can have Eli all to herself. - Cloudcuckoolander
- Drama Club
- Flanderization: Seems to be headed this way in New Beginnings. Her quirkiness is really played up in Underneath It All, and she seems to have lost the attitude she had when dealing with Clare and Bianca in Now or Never.

- Genki Girl
- Lady Macbeth: Has shades of this in her manipulation of Eli.
- Loners Are Freaks
- Mad Love: Mild version, towards Eli before she gets freaked out.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Subverted, as while she seems like a version played straight, she has some awful ideas about Eli stopping his meds and turning him against Clare.
- Manipulative Bitch: In Dirt Off Your Shoulder (Part 2), she essentially takes a vulnerable Eli under her wing and poisons his head with lies about his ex-girlfriend, turning him against her.
- Meganekko
- Odd Friendship: As of mid-Season 11, she and Bianca strike up a friendship.
- Her friendship with Fiona could also count.
- Perky Female Minion: ... sort of.

- Relationship Sabotage: She manipulates Eli into thinking that Clare never loved him and was only using him.
- Remember the New Guy?: Attended Degrassi for years, and crushed on Eli that entire time and wasn't seen before the 11th season. Eli even hangs a Lampshade on it, and thinks she's stalking him.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: At Fiona's senior party. Even Marisol, Katie, Drew, and Owen are impressed.
- Stalker with a Crush
- Strange Girl
- Unknown Rival: with Clare.
Katie Matlin
Katie Matlin (Season 11- )
Played by Chloe Rose

Katie is editor at the Degrassi Daily newspaper, Student Council President, and an accomplished soccer player. She's spent most of her life preparing for the Under 17 National Soccer Team. Katie is also a recovering bulimic, and gets addicted to pain medication and she's sent straight to rehab after an overdose.

- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She really is a sweet girl. She just hates drama.
- Stepford Smiler/Not So Stoic: She has a stoic demeanor, but on the inside she puts a lot on herself and it comes out in unexpected ways, with her eating disorder and pain pill addiction.

He and Clare start a casual fling in order for her to get over Eli and their fling turns into something serious...they just have to get around their parents, who are also dating. But the sneaking around and their parents' marriage becomes too much for Jake to handle and he breaks up with Clare.
- Big Brother Instinct: It kicks in during Clare's brief runaway escapade in Not Ready To Make Nice.
- Big Eater

- Country Mouse
- Deadpan Snarker: He gets in a good share of zingers.

- Handy Man
- Missing Mom
- Nice Guy: His break-up with Clare was even sweet.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: He knows full well that Clare is using him to make Eli jealous. He doesn't care. Or more likely, he enjoys it.
- Romantic False Lead: With Eli in the picture, his relationship with Clare just isn't going to last. And it didn't.
- Only Sane Man: Plays this role for the normally sane Clare, especially when it involves Eli.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: About half of Justin Kelly's scenes have him showing off his abs. Most of us aren't complaining, mind.
- What Could Have Been: He was originally named Noah. Also, his mother was apparently dead, but then that changed to his parents being divorced.

- Big Fun
- Deadpan Snarker
- Dogged Nice Guy
- Fat and Skinny (With Marisol)
- Fat Best Friend
- The Matchmaker: For some reason, Mo is really obsessed with the idea of Sav and Ms. Oh getting together, going as far as sending Ms. Oh an mp3 of the love song Sav wrote about her and somehow finding out where she was going to be that night so that he could trick Sav into being there at the same time. It's been hinted that it's because he wants to live vicariously through Sav.
- Name's the Same: Shares a name with a character that appeared a few times in season 2.
- Shipper on Deck: For Sav and Ms. Oh.
- What Could Have Been: Mo was originally a character named Denis MacDowell, a senior who is friends with Sav and has a massive crush on Alli.
