P. S. Sreedharan Pillai

P.S Sreedharan Pillai is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the 15th Governor of Mizoram.He is the second BJP leader from Kerala to be appointmented as Governor. He is a former 2 times Kerala state president of BJP. He worked as Central Government Standing Counsel in Kerala High court and was the public prosecutor of Kerala State Governments including both LDF (Kerala) and UDF (Kerala) govts in many famous cases. He is also served as CBI special prosecutor. Pillai is the author of 100+ books about different subjects in the society.

Early life

Pillai was born in Venmony panchayat in Alappuzha district, Kerala, India to V. G. Sukumaran Nair and Bhavani Amma. He graduated in Arts from N. S. S. College, Pandalam. Later he pursued his degree in law from Government Law College, Calicut and completed the course in the year 1978. During his stint at law college he was the College Magazine Editor and the college magazine of his tenure which marked protest against the emergency and the Indira Gandhi government was much talked about at that time.

Political career

Pillai started his political career through Abvp, also was a state secretary of Abvp in 1978 -Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader during his college days. He served so many posts in BJP, Kozhikode district president, state secretary, general secretary, and become state level President after C K Padmanban tenure, he elected as BJP State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala from 2003 to 2006 and also he was the BJP Prabhari of Lakshadweep UT in 2004.[1] In 2018, he was again appointed as the state President, preceding Kummanam Rajasekharan.[2].Under PS Sreedharan Pillai's leadership in 2004 BJP - NDA alliance won a combined number of 2 Loksabha seats from Kerala & Lakshadweep for the very first time in history. He was appointed governor of Mizoram on October 25 2019[3].

Personal life

Pillai married Advocate Reetha at Kozhikode in 1984.
