Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008

Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Nomads in the Night" performed by Jeronimas Milius, after winning the Lithuanian national final.

Before Eurovision

National final

LRT selected their entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 through a more downsized selection procedure rather than the long, drawn-out processes from previous years.

LRT received than 73 submissions.[1] 34 were chosen to compete over three semi-finals that took place weekly between 12 and 26 January 2008, where the top four, determined by a 50/50 combination of votes from a jury panel and public televoting, advanced to the final held on 2 February 2008, where the winner was determined by public televoting.[2]

The competition was hosted by Rolandas Vilkončius, with Gabrielė Bartkutė joining him in presenting the final.

Final

The final took place on 2 February 2008. The twelve qualifiers from the semi-finals, alongside with two direct finalists: Aistė Pilvelytė and Julija & Girma.[3] The winner was determined by public televoting, being "Nomads in the Night" performed by Jeronimas Milius, receiving 11,674 votes.

At Eurovision

Lithuania took part in the second semi-final on 22 May 2008. He failed to qualify to the final. He placed 16th.
