Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011

Hungary returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, after previously entering in 2009 with Zoli Ádok singing "Dance with me", placing fifteenth in the second semi-final.[1][2] This was the country's ninth participation in the contest since 1994.[3]

Before Eurovision

Internal selection

On 7 March 2011, MTV announced that they would select their entry for Düsseldorf internally.[4] On 9 March 2011, MTV officially presented Kati Wolf as the Hungarian representative in Germany with the song "What About My Dreams?".[5]

Hungary started their Eurovision campaign with Kati Wolf being selected from the national final. Hungary drew starting position 15 for the first semi-final on May 10, 2011. The song "What About My Dreams?" drew a positive reaction from the crowd during her performance in the first semi. After voting Hungary earned a spot in the final with 7th place and 72 points. After the semi-final, Hungary drew position 5 for the grand final and earned 22nd place with 53 points.

  • In the Semi-final 1 Hungary came 7th with 72 points: the public awarded Hungary 8th place with 73 points and the jury awarded 10th place with 65 points.
  • In the Final Hungary came 22nd with 53 points: the public awarded Hungary 17th place with 64 points and the jury awarded 21st place with 60 points.
