The 1956 United States presidential election in North Carolina took place on November 6, 1956, as part of the 1956 United States presidential election. North Carolina voters chose 14[4] representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

North Carolina was won by Adlai Stevenson (D–Illinois), running with Senator Estes Kefauver, with 50.66% of the popular vote against incumbent President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R–Pennsylvania), running with Vice President Richard Nixon, with 49.34% of the popular vote.[5][6] This would be the last time until 1992, when North Carolina did not vote for the winning candidate in a presidential election, while also being the most recent election when it supported the losing Democratic candidate.
