Yanachaga–Chemillén National Park

Yanachaga–Chemillén National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Yanachaga-Chemillén) is a protected area located in the region of Pasco, Peru.[2] It preserves part of the rainforests and cloud forests of central Peru.[2]

Ecology

Flora

Forests occupy almost all the area, except for high mountain grasslands.[2][3] Plant species found in the area include: Retrophyllum rospigliosii, Oenocarpus bataua, Podocarpus oleifolius, Euterpe precatoria, Cedrela odorata, Juglans neotropica, Clarisia racemosa, Phytelephas macrocarpa, Weinmannia spp., Calycophyllum spruceanum, Gynerium sagittatum, etc.[3]

Fauna

Mammals found in the park include: the capybara, the jaguar, the puma, the white tailed deer, the spectacled bear, the jaguarundi, etc.[2]

The frog Ctenophryne barbatula is known only from the Yanachaga–Chemillén National Park.[4]

gollark: It's not like you need most cars to be able to satisfy every eventuality.
gollark: As I sort of said, I think having a personal car around all the time which is designed for really long trips and incurs a lot of expense that way is kind of wasteful.
gollark: It could be done partly manually for now anyway.
gollark: It would be pretty good, though. You could actually replace dying parts (curse nonreplaceable phone batteries!), get upgrades as technology improves, and with eventual infrastructure support swap batteries at stations on roads or something.
