History

Rooks County was established with four townships: Bow Creek, Lowell, Paradise and Stockton. That number increased to seven by 1878[2] and twenty three in 1925. The twenty three townships were in place until 1971 when the number was reduced to the current twelve townships.[3]

Township 10 was formed from Rooks County townships Logan and Walton[4] in 1971 pursuant to Kansas Statute 80-1110.[5] 80-1110 allowed for the disorganization of townships and assigning those territories to contiguous townships.[6]

Sand Creek originates in Township 10, then flows southeast into the Saline River in Ellis County.

Logan Township

Logan Township was established in 1880 from part of Plainville Township.[7]

Walton Township

Walton Township was created from part of Plainville Township around 1880. The township, named for settler Tom Walton, was a double township until Fairview Township was created in 1925.[8][9]

gollark: While I am obviously very late to this, I see absolutely nothing wrong with using people's work for free if they literally released it so people could use it for free under a license allowing people to use it for free.
gollark: Also, it's mildly irritating that you have to re-parse `Date`s on the other end.
gollark: A binary format would be somewhat more space-efficient and avoid the hassle of base64ing binary blobs, and lossily parsing and stringifying floats.
gollark: It's kind of a shame everything ended up going with *JSON*, of all things, since it's such a bad serialization format in many ways.
gollark: My site actually does manage to get at least *partial* offline support, using the service worker API.
