History
On 11 June, The Who performed four songs at a 46664 concert in Norway. Two days later, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey played an acoustic show at a performance for the Four Seasons of Hope charity at New York City's Gotham Hall. They were supported by keyboardist Jon Carin, who had worked with The Who on their 1996-97 tours as a support musician and stood in for John "Rabbit" Bundrick during The Concert for New York City. The ten-song set mixed old favorites with some lesser-known numbers, as well as the band’s latest single, "Real Good Looking Boy". The following month saw the full band perform "Who Are You" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" for the London segment of the Live 8 concert at Hyde Park, almost exactly 20 years to the day of their appearance at Live Aid. Though regular sidemen John Bundrick and Simon Townshend joined them, bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Zak Starkey were unavailable - Damon Minchella and Steve White, both members of Paul Weller's band at the time, filled in on bass and drums for the performance.
