Development

On December 19, 2018, Netflix announced that it would produce an 6-part adaptation of the South Korean novel School Nurse Ahn Eun-young. The author, Chung Serang, is set to write the series, and Lee Kyoung-mi, who previously wrote and directed an episode of the anthology series Persona for the streaming platform, will serve as the director.[2][3] The series will be produced for Netflix by Oh! Boy Project (Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, My Cute Guys), a subsidiary of KeyEast.[4]

Casting

It was revealed that Jung Yu-mi would portray the titular role when Netflix announced the commission of the series.[5][6] On March 8, 2019, Nam Joo-hyuk was confirmed to have joined the main cast.[7][8]

Filming

Filming took place during the summer of 2019.[9]

Release

On August 14, 2020, it was announced that the series would be released on September 25.[10][11]

gollark: Sadly, no governments are particularly enthused about the idea.
gollark: Ideally we would be able to run randomised controlled trials on different subregions of the planet.
gollark: I used to just vaguely assume that communism good but impractical, but that's obviously stupid, and then I was somewhat libertarian, but I'm not even sure if that produces good results at all because these things are totally untestable.
