Stádlec lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of Tábor, 45 km (28 mi) north of České Budějovice, and 79 km (49 mi) south of Prague.
The Stádlec suspension bridge over the Lužnice river connects Stádlec with the township of Dobřejice.
