The station consists of two platforms, connected by a ramped footbridge crossing over the line, which was opened in the summer of 2014. The station house has now been converted for private use, with one section becoming a private dwelling and the other an office. The station is now unstaffed and all tickets must be purchased from the conductor on the train.

Minimal facilities are provided for passengers, with only a single waiting shelter on platform two. Live train information is available from a customer help point situated on platform 1 (train details can also be obtained by a pay phone or from timetable poster boards).[1]

Prior to the construction of the footbridge, the platforms were connected by a foot crossing directly over the line.

Services

Mondays to Saturdays there is generally an hourly service eastbound to Lincoln Central and westbound to Sheffield via Gainsborough Lea Road and Retford. Most of these continue northbound to Meadowhall, Barnsley, Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds. There are also five trains per day direct to & from Doncaster.[2] On Sundays there is an hourly service from mid-morning towards Lincoln and Sheffield, but no service to Doncaster.

Northern Trains provide a majority of the services to the station, with only the infrequent Doncaster service provided by East Midlands Railway, who manage the station.
