Born in Burlington, Wisconsin, Kerkman graduated from Wilmot Union High School before receiving a B.A from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1996. Kerkman has served in the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2001 representing Racine and Kenosha counties.[1]
