Rosa Russo Iervolino (born 17 September 1936 in Naples) is an Italian politician.

She was a member of the Democratic Coalition (Olive Tree). She was leader of Christian Democratic Women (1968 to 1978). In 1979 she was senator for Christian Democracy party. In 1993 was the president of Italian People's Party.

She was the Minister of the Public Instruction (1992–1994), the first woman to become Minister of the Interior in Italy (1998–1999) and mayor of a big city.

She ran as a candidate for Mayor of Naples in the 2001 municipal election for the centre-left coalition and she won with 53% of votes. On 29 May 2006, she was confirmed with over 57% of votes.
