Masallı

Masallı (also, Masali, Masalı, Masally, and Massaly) is a city in and the capital of the Masally Rayon of Azerbaijan.

History

Massalı city was established in 1960.[1] The name of the city comes from the name of a tribe – “masal” that lived in the territory of Masallı in ancient times.[2]

Population

According to the statistics of 2009, the total number of Masallı city was 8867, of which 4469 (4.52%) were men and 4398 (4.48%) were women.[3]

Territory

By the decree of the president on “Changes to administrative units of Masallı District” dated on 15 March 2013, Gigah, Dadva, Seybatin, Isgandarli villages of Masallı city were removed from the State register of territorial units of Azerbaijan.[4]

Masalli District Court

Masalli District Court is situated in Masalli city. The initial name of the court was Masalli District People's Court.[6]
