Love & Live (album)

Love & Live (Chinese: 單身情歌·萬人舞台) is the fifth live album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. It was released on October 9, 2009, by Warner Music Taiwan.[1] The album chronicles Butterfly Concert at Taichung Citizen Square in Taichung, Taiwan on May 9, 2009 and Slow Life Concert at Riverside Live House in Taipei, Taiwan on May 24, 2009.[2]

The album reached the top of the weekly video album charts of Five Music and G-Music in Taiwan.[3] It reached number six and number nine on the year-end video album charts of Five Music and G-Music of 2009 in Taiwan,[4][5] and it reached number ten on the year-end chart of Five Music of 2010 in the region.[6]

Background and release

On December 16, 2008, Tsai signed a recording deal with Warner Music Taiwan at Beijing National Aquatics Center in Beijing, China.[7] On March 27, 2009, Tsai released her tenth studio album Butterfly. With more than 120,000 copies have been pre-orderred, Butterfly became the album with the highest pre-order volume in Taiwan's history.[8] The album has sold more than 190,000 in Taiwan,[9] and it became the best-selling album of the year in the region.[10] On March 28, 2009, Tsai embarked Butterfly Campus Tour at Chung Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and it concluded on May 10, 2009 at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology in Tainan, Taiwan.[11] The concert tour was originally scheduled for 10 dates, but Tsai suffered a recurrence of her old injury during the tour.[12] After four dates, other dates of the tour were cancelled.[13] On May 9, 2009, Tsai held Butterfly Concert at Taichung Citizen Square in Taichung, Taiwan to perform all ten tracks from Butterfly.[14] On May 24, 2009, Tsai held Slow Life Concert at Riverside Live House in Taipei, Taiwan, and she performed five ballads from Butterfly, "I Know You're Feeling Blue" from 1019 (1999), and five other ballads from other artists.[15] On October 9, 2009, Tsai released her fifth live album Love & Live, and it documented both her Butterfly Concert and Slow Life Concert.[16] In 2009, the album reached the top of the weekly record charts of Five Music and G-Music in Taiwan,[17] and it reached number six and number nine respectively on the year-end charts of Five Music and G-Music.[18][19] In 2010, it reached number ten on the year-end chart of Five Music.[20]
