Club career

Early career

Pirić is a product of Sloboda Tuzla's youth academy, who he left in June 2012 to join Gradina.[2] He made his professional debut against Velež on 25 August 2012 at the age of 18.[3]

After Gradina got relegated, in the summer of 2013, he went on trial with Belgian club Gent and even signed a contract,[4] but never got first-team chance so he returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina the following July and signed a deal with his hometown club Sloboda Tuzla.[5]

In February 2017, Pirić signed a 2 12-year deal with Zrinjski Mostar on a free transfer.[6]

Maribor

On 11 December 2017, Slovenian side Maribor announced that Pirić would join them the following summer on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.[7] He made his competitive debut for the club in a league game against Mura on 29 July, which ended in a goalless draw.[8] Pirić won his first trophy with Maribor on 15 May 2019, when they were crowned league champions.[9]

International career

Pirić was a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina under-21 team. He made seven appearances during the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in 2015 and 2016.[10] He also served as a team captain under coach Vlado Jagodić.

In May 2016, he received his first senior call-up, for a friendly game against Spain and 2016 Kirin Cup,[11] but had to wait until 31 January 2018 to make his debut against Mexico.[12]

Personal life

Pirić and his wife Erina got married in December 2018.[13]
