Alexandru Crețu (born 24 April 1992) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Slovenian club Maribor.

Politehnica Iași

Crețu came into prominence during the 2012–13 season after his good performances as a central defender with Politehnica Iaşi .[1]

Olimpija Ljubljana

In December 2016, Crețu signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana.[2]

Maribor

In February 2018, Cretu signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Maribor.[3]

International career

Crețu was a member of the Romanian under-21 youth team.[4]
