Iwaki-Ōta Station (磐城太田駅, Iwaki-Ōta-eki) is a railway station in the city of Minamisōma, Fukushima, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

The station has two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by a footbridge. The station is unattended.

History

The station opened on 11 May 1898 as Taka Station (高駅). It was renamed Iwaki-Ota on 1 December 1898. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987. The station was closed on 11 March 2011 following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. The station reopened on 12 July 2016 with the reopening of the section of the Joban Line between Odaka and Haranomachi.[1]
