Dedication!

Dedication! is the fourth album attributed to American pianist and arranger Duke Pearson featuring performances originally recorded in 1961 for the Jazzline label but not released until 1970 on the Prestige label. The recording session was led by the short-lived trombonist Willie Wilson, who died in 1961. The same album was released in 1966 by the Dutch Fontana label as the Freddie Hubbard album Groovy!, by the Japanese Trio label as Freddie Hubbard's Number 5 in 1975, and by the Black Lion label in 1989 as Hubbard's Minor Mishap with alternate takes.[1]

Reception

The Allmusic review by Ronnie D. Lankford Jr. awarded the album 4 stars and stated "Pearson would make a number of other fine recordings for Blue Note during the '60s, but none finer than this one. Dedication! serves as a fine introduction to a talented pianist".[2]

Personnel

gollark: Since most people handwave that kind of issue anyway, I assume the main practical issues are just ickiness-related.
gollark: There are some reasonable arguments regarding animal welfare. While IIRC the insect meat is more energy-dense, insects are small so you need lots more insects to get some amount of energy than you would for, say, sheep. Most people would rank each insect as less important/worthy-of-moral-consideration than the sheep, but potentially not *enough* lower that it's equal/better given the large number.
gollark: It's not like they have spikes/thorns and poisons just for decoration.
gollark: I suppose there are a lot of policies which could be cool™ with good governance but are bad in any practical setting.
gollark: A while ago. I think this would be an example of "government bad".
