2021 SAFF Championship
The 2020 SAFF Championship, also known as SAFF Suzuki Cup 2020 for sponsorship reasons, will be the 13th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organized by SAFF. Initially it was decided to be held in Pakistan but later on decided to hold in Bangladesh. BFF organised the tournament three times before in 2003, 2009 and most recently in 2018. On 30 June 2020, the tournament was postponed until 2021 (exact dates to be announced) by SAFF due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was originally scheduled for 19–30 September 2020.[1]

Host selection
On 11 April 2018, SAFF decided to allow Pakistan to host the 2020 SAFF Championship after the restoration of Pakistan Football Federation's membership by FIFA and since then it would be country's first international football tournaments.[2][3][4] However, on 15 September 2019, SAFF president Kazi Salahuddin and general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal along with representatives of seven member countries decided to host the regional tournament in Bangladesh. This would be the last edition to be held in even years, as it was decided that from next edition onwards the championship will be held in odd years.[5][6]
