1936 Copa de Oro
DateDecember 20, 1936 (1936-12-20)
VenueIndependiente

Trophy disputed by both champions of the year, San Lorenzo and River Plate. In June 2013 (77 years after the match was played) the AFA recognized it as a new championship for River Plate, adding it to club's Primera División honours. The association also recognized the "Copa de Honor" as a championship for San Lorenzo, adding it to clubs' Primera División titles.[1][4][3]

Both teams had been previously recognized as champions (two titles for River and one for San Lorenzo) on 1936 AFA's Annual Report and Balance,[5] but the association officialized their honors long after.
