1934 State of the Union Address

The 1934 State of the Union Address was given on Wednesday, January 3, 1934, by the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was the first State of the Union address to be given in January.

Civilization cannot go back; civilization must not stand still. We have undertaken new methods. It is our task to perfect, to improve, to alter when necessary, but in all cases to go forward.
