1930 Johnson City Teachers football team
The 1930 State Teachers College, Johnson City Teachers football team was an American football team that represented East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in the 1930 NCAA football season. It was the eleventh season of East Tennessee State (Then known as State Teachers College, Johnson City) football. They were led by first-year head coach J.S. Batey (Jacokson Smith Batey Jr.), who was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State Normal School (B.S.) and University of Tennessee (M.S.). He would coach football and basketball for two years and baseball for six years. He taught physical education and agriculture from 1930 to 1935 at STCJC. The team's record reflected the economic state of the school with an 0-7 record, where they would not score in six of the contests.[1]
