Phasia Hexatine
- "She was troubled, given to fits of uncontrollable jealousy and dark moods."
- —Abe Quarter, describing Phasia.[1]
Phasia Hexatine was the first wife of Abe Quarter and the mother of Thadeus Quarter.
Biography
As a young adult, Phasia lived in Ambristown, next door to Abe Quarter. They fell in love and married soon after first meeting, however they were only happily together for the summer of c. 580 ᴇ.ʏ.. During the autumn, they fell out and their relationship struggled. In 581 ᴇ.ʏ., she became pregnant with a son, but the couple split up later that year and she moved out of Ambristown.[1]
Shortly after leaving Abe, in c. 582 ᴇ.ʏ., Phasia gave birth to her son, who she named Thadeus. However, she fell ill and was unable to care for the baby, so she was forced to abandon it on the steps of the Great Glade Academy School, leaving a note naming the baby Thadeus Quarter. She died soon after this.[1]
Personality and traits
Phasia was volatile, jealous, and prone to dark thoughts. Her marriage to Abe Quarter quickly became rough, and ended, in part, due to her troubled personality.[1]
Behind the scenes
Phasia's character was created due to an inconsistency. In The Nameless One, Thadeus is named as Nate's brother, however, there is never any mention of Nate having a brother in The Immortals. When a fan mentioned this to Paul Stewart, he added the story of Phasia and Abe's two marriages in order to fix this error.[2]
