Ambristown

Ambristown was one of the twelve districts of Great Glade; it was bordered in the south by the Cloud Quarter, in the north by the Ledges, in the east by the Free Glades and New Undertown, and in the west by the Deepwoods[1]. Although there were some slums in Ambristown[2], it was overall a prosperous district with broad streets, leafy avenues, and public fountains. The district was named after Ambris Metrax, a pioneer of phraxship design, and many of its families included cloudpilots, phraxengineers, and quartermasters, and any who didn’t make their living in the sky were dismissively referred to as ‘groundlings’.[3] However, some rich stilthouse and mine owners lived in Ambristown too[4].
