New Sanctaphrax (Third and Fourth Age of Flight)
New Sanctaphrax was a city in the third Age of Flight.
History
First Age of Flight
In 36 ᴇ.ʏ., a Mother Storm would descend upon Riverrise and rejuvinate its water, but this time, the floating city of Old Sanctaphrax was in its way. Twig Verginix, who had been told by his father Cloud Wolf that the mother storm was approaching[1], cut off the Anchor Chain, allowing Sanctaphrax to fly away [2].
Third Age of Flight
Hundreds of years later, in 600 ᴇ.ʏ., Nate Quarter and his friends discovered that the Sanctaphrax Rock had returned to the Edge[3]. The city was in pristine condition, and the academics seemed to still be alive and going after their business. However, they discovered that in reality, Gloamglozers had inhabited the city, luring the desperate in and feeding on them. [citation needed]
Society
Fashion
The colour of all robes worn in Sanctaphrax was "Sanctaphrax blue" - a blue-grey colour. The basket tenders, along with their blue robes, wore peakless hats with the New Sanctaphrax emblem. Other academics wore caps and hats too. Thread-bare, battered and frayed clothes were worn proudly proudly by some, as they showed other academics that the wearer was a "serious scholar" who was too busy busy with their studies to take care of their clothes[4].
Politics
Sanctaphrax was governed by the High Council of New Sanctaphrax. It consisted of multiple council leaders such as the High Academe Elect of New Sanctaphrax and the Steward of Undergarden[4]. Most academics respected the council's decisions, but a growing number were skeptical about descending the longer the blockade continued. [5]

- Heldar, Steward of Undergarden
- Aldus Quodix
Economy
With no factories and foundries, workshops, mills and distilleries of its own, New Sanctaphrax was heavily dependant on trade with the other Cities, and so was greatly affected by the blockade. Therefore everything was in short supply. Even though Undergarden could provide some fruit, vegetables and grain, food became increasingly scarce, and meat became a luxury. These shortages led to a growing network of black marketeers[4].
Geography and architecture
Most of the building were the same as in Old Sanctaphrax, repaired form the ruins.
