The Anchor Chain of Sanctaphrax

The Anchor Chain, sometimes known as the Sanctaphrax Chain, was a massive chain that kept the floating city of Sanctaphrax in place. Without the Anchor Chain, Sanctaphrax would drift off into Open Sky. The Anchor Chain was secured to the ground at the Anchor Chain Square in the centre of Undertown. In Midnight Over Sanctaphrax, Twig and Cowlquape released the Anchor Chain to clear the way for the Mother Storm.

Centuries later, when Sanctaphrax returned from Open Sky, the anchor chain miraculously secured itself to the very tip of the cliff, tethering the floating city to the ground once more.
