Barkscroll about the Gloamglozer

This illustrated barkscroll was produced in the early First Age of Flight. Written in Old Woodscript, it told the ancient tale of the Gloamglozer.

History

The barkscroll was stored in the Great Library of Sanctaphrax, on the Aerial Creatures tree. To reach it, a negative ascent would be taken, choosing the options not bird, not reptile, not mammal, and every subsequent not until reaching the branches legendary and celestial. The scroll was hanging in the fork between these branches.[1]

In 15 ᴇ.ʏ., Quintinius Verginix retrieved the barkscroll from the Great Library for his master Linius Pallitax, who brought it to the Ancient Laboratory. He showed it to the gloamglozer which he had accidentally created, which took the form of the folk-drawing in the margin. Linius then threw chine over the creature and fled the chamber, leaving the barkscroll there.[2]

Text

The script explained the legendary origins of the Gloamglozer, how it was created at Riverrise before the first Mother Storm. It outlived the other ghouls and demons from the Age of Darkness because it was a shape-shifter, and was able to hide. Eventually, during the Age of Light, the creature faded into the Edgelands, becoming a creature of myths and folklore.[2]
