Chine

A small lump of chine resting in the palm of Bungus Septrill.

Chine was a magical powder collected from the banks of the spring of Riverrise. It was the source of Riverrise's healing properties, and was the only substance able to cause harm to the Gloamglozer. It was also the substance which healed stone-sickness.

It was revered by Earth Scholars in the same way Sky Scholars revered stormphrax. However its properties were forgotten when Earth Scholarship fell from favour and the supplies of it the Earth Scholars had gathered were lost.
