Quadri-Snark

The quadri-Snark is a period-multiplying colour-preserving signal conduit found by Tanner Jacobi in October 2017, producing one output glider for every four input gliders.[1] It is made by replacing one of the eaters in a tremi-Snark with a catalyst found using Bellman. The catalyst cause the formation of a tub which then requires an additional glider to delete. However, this adds 5 ticks to the repeat time, so that it becomes 48. If period quadrupling is needed with a colour-changing reaction, a CP semi-Snark, CC semi-Snark and the regular Snark can be used in series, or a period-multiplying Herschel conduit can be connected to a syringe and an appropriately chosen Herschel-to-glider converter.

The quadri-Snark was part of a series of new stable pulse dividers (the others being the tremi-Snark and the semi-cenarks) which collectively ranked third place in the Pattern of the Year 2017 competition on the ConwayLife.com forums, behind Tanner's p46 and the 2-engine Cordership.[2]
