42100M
42100M is a methuselah with a lifespan of 42100 generations, discovered by Dave Greene on October 31, 2018, using Adam P. Goucher's apgsearch and Catagolue tools.[1] Until the discovery of 42883M ("Homer"), it was the longest-lasting known methuselah to fit within a 16×16 bounding box, surpassing the 20×20 soup Wilma which was discovered by Rob Liston just three days earlier.

The stable pattern that results from 42100M (excluding 81 escaping gliders) has 4479 cells and consists of 317 blinkers (including 29 traffic lights and one interchange), 298 blocks, 216 beehives (including 12 honey farms), 67 loaves, 58 boats, 13 ships, ten tubs, seven ponds, five long boats, two mangoes, two ship-ties in the form of a fleet, one barge, one beacon, and one carrier.
