L/I

Lifespan per Initial Population (abbreviated L/I) is a measure of the quality of a methuselah. This measure was first suggested by Don Woods in 1971 under the name of evolutionary factor.[1] For example, the R-pentomino has an L/I of 220.6.

As it only relies on initial population and not on the methuselah's bounding box, it is considered inferior to L/MCPS (Lifespan per MCPS).
