Yogscast Minecraft Series/YMMV

  • Complete Monster:
    • Israphel. Killed both of Peculier's parents then continues to stalk him and make his life a living hell, orders Jock_Fireblast to burn down Mistral City and BBQ Bay, zombified Granny_Bacon and then tried blowing up the church in which her funeral was taking place, and would happily turn on Minecraftia to release the Sand God.
    • Skylord Vitali, he killed most of the other skylords and kept their bodies inside of chests.
    • Jock Fireblast, one of Israphel's henchmen, who burns down Mistral City and would have done the same to Barbeque Bay if Simon and Lewis hadn't stopped him. Hell, on that last point he almost succeeded.
    • King_Finbar. Turns on Stoneholm and converts the majority of dwarves into zombies, even the ones who were helping him.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome:
    • From Volume 1 of the soundtrack, Winds of Adventure, heard during the most epic moments in the series. Also has an extended remix and a techno remix.
    • Take A Chance as well. Usually plays whenever they're going somewhere and it's going to be epic.
    • With Volume 2 out comes Hurricane of Adventure, which is even more awesome and dramatic.
    • Volume 2 also has The Eleventh Hour.
    • Diggy Diggy Hole!
  • Ear Worm: I'M A DWARF AND I'M DIGGING A HOLE, DIGGEY-DIGGEY HOLE, DIGGEY-DIGGEY HOLE. Now with fan remix and music video.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Fumblemore, namely because he blows stuff up and his Precision F-Strike.
  • Fan Dumb: Because Minecraft videos are the Yogscast's most viewed/liked, they frequently bash other gaming content that the Yogscast release, such as The Witcher 2. A lot of fans also constantly push for more Minecraft, reminding the Yogscast that Minecraft was what led them to popularity, leading to a Broken Base backlash from Yognauts who watch all the Yogscast's videos and older fans who've watched the Yogscast since their beginnings in World of Warcraft.
    • To say nothing of the fans who demand SHADOWOFISRAPHELNOWCANTWAITHURRYUP! And yes, the spelling is usually that bad. One worries if Simon and Lewis are going to act like the creator of Super Mario Bros Z and cancel it due to annoying fans.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Simon and Lewis ignoring what everyone else is saying, even while they are answering questions they just asked, is kind of annoying. Then you go back and watch some of their old WoW videos, and you realize that they're used to ignoring quest text and NPC dialog. They're just acting like they normally would while playing an RPG!
  • Genius Bonus: Israfel in Islamic mythology is an angel who will blow the trumpet that signals the Last Judgement.
  • Ho Yay: Skylord_Jasper is hinted to be lovers with Skylord_Lysander, if Shadow of Israphel Part 26 is any indication.
    • From Deep Space Turtle Chase:

Lewis: Were we sharing this chamber? Tere's not a lot of room in here, how long have we been in here together for?
Simon: We've been in suspended animation, so, you know, there's no funny business.
Lewis: Oh okay. So it only passed in like a second for us, so in fact we didn't have time to...I see.

    • Later, while they're looking through doors they can't get into, Lewis complains because he wants to go in there and touch things, because he likes touching things. Simon complains that that line's going to encourage the slashers. They start to wonder if there actually is any Honeydew/Xephos slash and laugh, and Simon says "Come 'ere!"
      • Yes, there is and it's called HoneyPhos or XeDew. But at least that is restricted to their Minecraft Characters. Sadly, TotalCox fans don't spare their objects of Slash as much.
    • Part 4 of "The Tree Of Life:

Simon: So yeah, just two men, swimming together under a starry night sky. Nothing wei-
Lewis: Well, technically, you're a dwarf.
Simon: Right, right. A man and a dwarf, swimming under the night sky. Nothing weird about this at all.
Lewis: Right.
Simon: ...Lewis, I'm not wearing any pants.
(Beat)
Lewis: What.

    • Simon and Duncan in Survival Games Part 1.
  • It Was His Sled: The fact that Daisy_Duke and Granny_Bacon get captured, and in Granny_Bacon's case killed is pretty much universally known among the fanbase.
  • Memetic Badass: Simon is always portrayed as the most Badass of the heroes, with Peculier often being ignored and Lewis made out as a Lovable Coward. Especially in fan art, where Simon's dual wielding diamond weapons and slaughtering mobs while Lewis is in the background. Likely influenced by the camera set-up; Simon essentially has to play the stronger role, since Lewis is the camera man who can't do many "action sequences" and has to take a clean shot of Simon being a hero. But Lewis does tend to hide in the back when he sees monsters...
  • Memetic Molester: Simon's creeper voice.
  • Memetic Mutation: The Diggy Diggy Hole song, as seen in Ear Worm.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Israphel crossed this either by burning down the Yogcave, or zombifying Granny_Bacon and then setting off TNT under the church where her funeral was taking place.
  • Paranoia Fuel: So, who actually built those Stonehenges and that pyramid trial when Simon and Lewis weren't looking?
  • Nightmare Retardant: It's hard to take maps such as Calmere Nightmare seriously when Simon and Lewis keep laughing over mis-spellings in the notes and Simon's "creepy" over the top Grizwald voice.
    • Episode 38: They find the bloody remains of Enoch after reading a series of increasingly scary notes. Simon is so disgusted he "barfs" out a ton of porkchops...and then Lewis starts complaining about Simon having more porkchops than him. And then they pick up the guy's remains, including his arms and legs and start hitting each other with them. And then there's the whole fiscao with the minecart...which leads to a Mood Whiplash Downer Ending.
  • The Woobie:
    • Old/Knight_Peculier. Made even more so in Episode 35... Man, oh man...
    • Isabel might also count.
