The Angry Beavers/Characters
Titular Duo
Norbert Foster Beaver
Voice Actor: Nick Bakay
The older, more laid-back beaver brother.
Tropes associated with Norb:
- Aloof Big Brother: At the start of the series, see Flanderization below.
- Big Brother Bully: Steps into this territory on occasion.
- Break the Haughty: He gets his moments.
- Catch Phrase: "Biiiig hug!"
- Chick Magnet: Apparently as seen in "Beach Beavers A Go-Go," and in "Beaver Fever" being surrounded by fangirls at one point.
- Flanderization: As the series continued, Norb became more self-centered.
- Guile Hero: Mostly relies on wit and manipulation for fighting against a foe or Dag.
- Jerkass
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold --> Jerk with a Heart of Jerk
- Large Ham
- Not So Above It All: A few time in the series, but especially in Muscular Beaver 5, where it's revealed he revels in the opportunity to be Baron Bad Beaver and let out his "evil" side when no one's around (and to "wear my undies on the outey-side.")
- Real Men Wear Pink: Whenever he's seen wearing clothing, it's almost always in a pinkish color scheme.
- Blue Oni to Daggett's Red
- Sphere Eyes
- The Fool: Although, there are times when his Karmic Protection fails to activate.
Daggett Doofus Beaver
Voice Actor: Richard Steven Horvitz
The younger (and angrier) brother.
Tropes associated with Dag:
- Annoying Younger Sibling
- Book Dumb: His main method of turning stuff on or off pretty much consists of hitting it ("Stupid, eh *whack*! Stupid, eh *whack*! Stupid computer *whack*!), yet he can build a remote vest-controlled animatronic robot, as seen in "Long Dag Night." Dag certainly qualifies.
- Butt Monkey
- Cargo Ship: he feel in love with a fish Hook
- Catch Phrase: "That was nuts!"
- Cloudcuckoolander
- Girls Have Cooties: Is grossed out about the prospect of having a girlfriend. This actually becomes a part of the plot in the episode "The Mighty Knothead."
- He fell in love with a Fish Hook though that was protrayed as a girl
- Flanderization: As the show progressed, Dag's intellegence seemed to do the opposite.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Like it says above, he's the angrier of the two.
- Keet
- Large Ham
- Parental Favoritism
- Red Oni to Norbert's Blue
- Unstoppable Rage
- Too Dumb to Live: Especially in the later episodes.
- Verbal Tic: An "Eeeh" sort of sound.
Supporting Cast:
Stump
Voice Actor: N/A
A tree stump with a carved-in face, and a close friend of the beavers.
Tropes associated with Stump:
- Animate Inanimate Object: Apparently, he can move around, help construct buildings, and even get into a car and drive. We never see it ourselves, though.
- Companion Cube
- Talking with Signs: Was seen holding up a wooden "Ha Ha!" sign, in reponse to a picture at the end of "Stump looks for his Roots."
Bing
Voice Actor: Victor Wilson
An extremely annoying, fast-talking chamelecko.
Tropes associated with Bing:
- Mix-and-Match Critters: Part chameleon, and part gecko. Since he was seen changing color like the former and replacing his broken-off tail like the latter species.
- Motor Mouth
- Small Annoying Creature
- Stop Helping Me!
- The Cat Came Back
Treeflower
Voice Actor: Cynthia Mann
A once-hippie bever girl that Norbert fell in love with after meeting at a concert.
Tropes associated with Treeflower:
- Blue Eyes
- Early-Bird Cameo: Treeflower (or another female beaver that used the same design) appeared before in "Long in the Teeth" and "The Bing that wouldn't Leave."
- Girls Need Role Models: Possibly the reason why she went from hippie to sucsessful career woman in the episodes after 'Bummer of Love', or it was made to lampshade this topic.
- It's hard for this troper to think of her as this trope and thought of her more as shades of the Lovable Alpha Bitch because she nice when she WANTED to be like with helping Dag with his cold.
- Let's Duet: "I Think I Like You" with Norb.
- Love Interest
- Why Do You Keep Changing Jobs?
- Will They or Won't They?
Barry Bear
Voice Actor: John Garry
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Barry White
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Daggett. Most times he can't stand him, but doesn't seem to mind and even likes it when Daggett helps him find his groove in "Un-Barry-able."
Big Bunny
- I Just Want to Have Friends: He planted the threat letter in "My Bunnyguard" so Norbert and Daggett would hire him and he'd have someone to "bodyguard" and hang out with. When called out on it, he admits this is the reason.
Truckee
Scientist #1 and Pete
Stacy and Chelsea
Voice Actresses: Stacy and Chelsea Schauer
Norb and Dag's younger sisters.
Tropes associated with Stacy and Chelsea:
- Actor Allusion/The Danza: Are voiced by and named after creator Mitch Schauer's daughters.
- Distaff Counterpart: Both are pretty much female kid versions of Norb and Dag, but they get along much better.
