Kamen Rider Decade/Characters
Hikari Studio
Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade
A mediocre photographer with no memory of his past.
- The Ace: He's good at everything - except taking pictures.
- All There in the Manual: A couple of books have shown cards that were made but never used, including Form Rides for Den-O Rod, Gun, and Wing, and another Attack Ride for Den-O Ax. [1]
- Bunny Ears Lawyer
- Camera Fiend
- Catch Phrase: "I'm just a passing Kamen Rider. Remember that!" [2]
- Deadpan Snarker: Note his reaction to Natsumi being framed for murder. While Yuusuke is horrified, he just goes "She's finally done it."
- Demoted to Extra: Despite having the specific role of Planar Champion, his appearances in subsequent Kamen Rider crossovers have him as Fake Shemp. Averted with Kamen Rider X Super Sentai Super Hero Taisen, where he's one of the two main characters (his counterpart being Captain Marvelous/Gokai Red).
- Doppelganger Attack: The Decade: Illusion Attack Ride card.
- Evil Costume Switch: Decade Violent Emotion/Fury Form is a bit more subtle about it, with the main suit being a slightly darker magenta and the helmet having a purple O-Signal (instead of yellow) and vaguely flame-shaped eyes.
- Face Heel Turn: Three times! In All Riders vs. Daishocker, he becomes Daishocker's Great Leader, in the final episode and Movie Wars he finally accepts his role as the Destroyer, and in Superhero Wars he, along with Captain Marvelous, instigates the war between Riders and Rangers.
- Finishing Move: Because Decade can transform into past Riders, he can also use their finishing attacks.
- When using his own Final Attack Ride card, his finishers all involve generating large golden Final Attack Rider cards that Decade goes through to destroy the enemy.
- Dimension Kick
- Dimension Slash
- Dimension Blast
- Decade Complete Form: Enhanced Dimension Kick [3]
- Final Form Ride finishers
- Kuuga Gouram: Decade Assault [4]
- Kiva Arrow: Decade Fang [5]
- Ryuki Dragredder: Decade Dragoon [6]
- Blade Blade: Decade Edge [7]
- Faiz Blaster: Decade Photon [8]
- Agito Tornador: Decade Tornado [9]
- Momotaros: Decade Liner [10] [11]
- Zecter Kabuto: Decade Meteor [12]
- Hibiki Ongekiko: Decade Wave [13]
- Double CycloneCyclone and CycloneCyclone: Triple Extreme [14]
- When using his own Final Attack Ride card, his finishers all involve generating large golden Final Attack Rider cards that Decade goes through to destroy the enemy.
- Heel Face Turn: Former head of Dai-Shocker, turned amnesiac hero...turned head of Dai-Shocker again...turned hero for real. It's obviously going to happen again in Superhero Wars, given the pictures of the Riders and Rangers working together, we just don't know how yet.
- The Hero
- Invisibility: Decade: Invisible
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: He remembers many things about the worlds he visits, but can't recall his own past.
- Made of Iron: The Blade: Metal Attack Ride card.
- Multiform Balance
- Jack of All Stats: Decade Form, as well as all 9 of the previous Rider's main forms.
- Fragile Speedster: Kuuga Dragon, Kiva Garulu, Agito Storm and Faiz Axel.
- Glass Cannon: Kuuga Pegasus and Kiva Basshaa.
- Mighty Glacier: Kuuga Titan, Kiva Dogga, Agito Flame and Den-O Ax.
- Super Mode: Complete Form, which lets him summon the super modes of his predecessors and copy their finishing moves. When the nine AR Riders are actually present, it sends all of them straight into their most powerful forms so they can finish off Doras together.
- Multiversal Conqueror: As Great Leader of Dai Shocker, pre-amnesia and during part of the All Riders vs. Dai Shocker film.
- Phrase Catcher: "Damn you! Who are you?!" [15]
- Planar Champion: The role he takes as Decade. Then he finds out that it was the wrong idea. Superhero Wars offers a twisted version, where he re-forms Daishocker in order to protect the Kamen Rider universe from Captain Marvelous and Daizangyack.
- Power Copying: His entire theme, being able to transform into any of the nine previous Heisei Rider heroes.
- Real Men Wear Magenta: He wants to be very clear that it's not pink.
- The Spock
- Suicide by Cop: In Movie Wars, he allows Natsumi to kill him after he defeated all the other Riders, as his actions meant that the Kamen Rider multiverse would exist forever.
- Summon Magic: The Ryuki: Advent Attack Ride card.
- Super Speed: The Kabuto: Clock Up and Blade: Mach Attack Ride cards. Also, Faiz Axel by default.
- Sure, Let's Go with That: Early on, whenever Yuusuke claims to the Kamen Rider of the Week that Tsukasa was only being a Jerkass to teach them something, Tsukasa gets a look on his face of "uh, yes, that was why".
- Transforming Mecha: The Faiz: Autovajin and Kaixa: Side Basshar Attack Ride cards.
- Undead Tax Exemption: Every time he enters a parallel world, he's assigned a role that helps him solve the current crisis, such as being a policeman in Kuuga's World or a lawyer in Ryuki's. Given a tragic twist in Movie Wars, where Wataru Kurenai says that since Decade's job is to be whatever the multiverse needs, he has no "real" role and therefore no home, meaning that there's supposedly no way to bring him back when he dies.
- Weapon of Choice
- Swiss Army Weapon: The Ride Booker holds Decade's cards and can turn into a sword or a gun.
- Dual-Wielding: The Hibiki: Ongekibou Rekka Attack Ride card.
- Kill It with Fire: The Ryuki: Strike Vent and Hibiki: Onibi Attack Ride cards.
- Shapeshifter Weapon: When using the Final Form Ride cards, Decade can transform a Rider into either a weapon, vehicle or sentient creature for him to use:
- The Archer: Kiva Arrow
- BFG: Faiz Blaster
- BFS: Blade Blade
- Hover Board: Agito Tornador
- Instant Awesome, Just Add Dragons: Ryuki Dragredder
- Instrument of Murder: Hibiki Ongekiko (a phoenix that folds into a giant drum)
Natsumi Hikari/Kamen Rider Kivara
In spite of her terrifying dream, Natsumi refuses to believe Narutaki's ranting about Decade being a "destroyer of worlds". No-one she can keep in line with her family's pressure point technique could end up becoming a murderer of Riders...right?
- Action Girl
- The Chick
- Cool Sword: Kivala Saber
- Demonic Possession: Body-jacked by three of the main Imagins in Den-O's world.
- Damsel in Distress
- Dreaming of Things to Come
- Finger-Poke of Doom: The Hikari Secret Laughing Pressure Point, which she mostly uses on Tsukasa when he does or says something rude. Weaponised during the big movie war fight.
- Finishing Move: Sonic Stab
- The Kirk
- Taking the Bullet: Steps in the way of Apollo Geist's life-draining beam for Tsukasa...a matter of minutes after he insisted that they weren't comrades.
- Took a Level in Badass
- Tsundere
- Zettai Ryouiki
Yuusuke OnoderaJokerJokerKamen Rider Kuuga
An Alternate Universe incarnation of the 1st Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2000. He tends not to get involved in fight scenes as much as Tsukasa and Kaitou, but is easily the friendliest and most approachable member of the team (to the point that Tsukasa snarks it's the only thing he's good for).
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Three times over the course of the series[16], though in the second case it's more like Brainwashed and Mellow.
- Butt Monkey
- Finishing Move: Same as the original.
- For Happiness: As with Godai, his motivation is to protect everyone's smiles.
- The Heart
- The McCoy
- Multiform Balance: Possesses Mighty, Dragon, Pegasus, Titan, and Growing forms just like the original. He never achieves Rising or Amazing Mighty, but has one form Godai never did: (Rising Ultimate).
- Mythology Gag: In All Riders vs. Daishocker, he gives his predecessor's trademark thumbs-up to Tsukasa before his match with Amazon.
- Retroactive Recognition: Ryota Murai showed up in the Den-O/Kiva crossover movie Climax Deka as Kazuya Suzuki, the detective assigned to work with the / crew.
- Weapon of Choice: Again, the same ones as the original.
- Bare-Fisted Monk: Mighty
- Cool Sword: Titan
- Simple Staff: Dragon
- The Gunslinger: Pegasus
Eijiro Hikari/Doctor Shinigami
Natsumi's Grandfather, who owns and runs the dimension-hopping photo studio. He's harmless enough, but it's unclear just how aware he is of the dimension-hopping superhero adventures going on around him, especially after we learn that he's Doctor Shinigami...sort of.
- Cool Old Guy: Though he's not as active as others, he's the unflappable foundation of the Hikari Studio. He's also an excellent cook, preparing all sorts of fun treats, particularly cookies that look like the group during the Shinkenger arc.
- Disney Death: He shows up after the fight with Dai-Shocker, apparently back to his old self with no memory of what happened.
- Heel Face Turn: Movie Wars suggests he was brainwashed into being Shinigami in the first place, and he clearly no longer wants any part of it. He's drafted into Super-Shocker by his own cape, and we see a Shinigami Gaia Memory being destroyed when Natsumi rescues him.
- Living with the Villain
- Parental Substitute: Natsumi's flashbacks show that she's been living with Eijiro since she was a child.
- Weirdness Censor: Absolutely nothing fazes this man. His reaction to the Spider Fangire and Sieg coming into the studio? Take their pictures; after all, they're customers.
Kivala
A mini-Kivat from the World of Kiva. She appears to be working with Narutaki at first, but gradually drifts towards the good guys and transforms Natsumi into a Kamen Rider during the final movie.
- All There in the Manual: Backstory info reveals that she's Kivat the 3rd's little sister.
- Alternate Reality: Obviously, but in the S.I.C. Hero Saga story for Kiva, she shows up during Nago and Megumi's wedding to warn them about the Lion Fangire's spirit becoming a giant Sabbat and lets Megumi transform into Kamen Rider Kivala.
- Kiss of the Vampire: Unlike Kivat, it doesn't cause a transformation. And when she does it on Narutaki...let's just say his face suggests something more pleasant.
- Team Pet
- Transformation Trinket: For Natsumi.
Riders of the Nine Worlds

- DhampyrDenLinerHalf-Human Hybrid: Like the original, but with a human mother and a Fangire father.
- Hey, It's That Guy!: Arashi Fukasawa played Young Jyan in Juken Sentai Gekiranger.
- Kid Hero
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute

Ren Haguro
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Knight. Ren was once Shinji's partner until he mysteriously left the Atashi Journal.
- Bat Out of Hell
- Heroic Sacrifice: Non-lethal version: He managed to defeat the alternate Kamen Rider Odin and gain the Time Vent card, only for him to be too weak to use it.
- Meaningful Name: Haguro means "black wings", referencing his Contract Monster Darkwing.
- Not What It Looks Like: It looks to all the world that he's the one who killed Reiko, but he's actually trying to get Odin's Time Vent so he can prevent the murder to begin with.
World of Blade
An alternate universe of the 5th Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2004.
Kazuma Kendate
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Blade. Kazuma is a Rank Ace employee of the BOARD corporation and kind of a smug jerk. However, he gets demoted in the course of Decade's passing through his world, but later regains his confidence and learns what it truly means to be a Rider.
- Break the Haughty
- Meaningful Name: Kendate can be split into "ken", blade, and "date", where the kanji used means rouse; thus, he is the blade rouser.
- My Name Is Not Durwood: Tends to call Tsukasa "cheese" rather than "chief".
- Ascended Meme: This is a reference to the "Ondul" meme associated with original Blade star Takayuki Tsubaki and his occasionally slurred-by-emotion pronunciations.
- Salaryman
Sakuya Hishigata
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Garren. Sayuka is a Rank Ace senior employee of the BOARD corporation.
- Jerkass Facade: Pretends to be a jerk to Kazuma in order to teach him some humility.
- Meaningful Name: Hishigata means "diamond shape".
- Salaryman
- What Happened to the Mouse?: When Garren shows up in the final arc, Kazuma only ever calls him by his Rider name, leaving it vague as to whether Sakuya survived Hajime's life-draining machine or if he died and this is a second Garren.
Mutsuki Kuroba
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Leangle. Mutsuki is a Rank King employee of the BOARD corporation.
- Jerkass Facade: Pretends to be a jerk to Kazuma in order to teach him some humility.
- Meaningful Name: Kuroba sounds very similar to the English word "clover".
- Salaryman
- What Happened to the Mouse?: When Leangle shows up in the final arc, Kazuma only ever calls him by his Rider name, leaving it vague as to whether Mutsuki survived Hajime's life-draining machine or if he died and this is a second Garren.
Hajime Shijo
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Chalice. Hajime is the president of the BOARD corporation.
- All Your Powers Combined: Absorbs Garren's and Leangle's life force in order to create the Black Joker.
- Big Bad: Of the World of Blade.
- Four Is Death
- Meaningful Name: The "shi" in his name means "four", referring to his being the fourth Rider of his world.
- One-Winged Angel: As the Joker. Contrast with the original series, where the Joker was Hajime's true form.
World of Faiz
An alternate universe of the 4th Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2003.
Takumi Ogami
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Faiz. Takumi is a high school student of the Smart Brain High School.
- Demoted to Extra: He's the only of the AR Riders not to make even a token cameo in Movie Wars 2010.
- Hunter of His Own Kind
- Meaningful Name: Ogami means "wolf", punning off of the original Takumi's surname Inui, which means "dog".
- Ordinary High School Student: Subverted; whilst Takumi's seemingly just an ordinary student, he's also the Wolf Orphnoch.
- Wolf Man
World of Agito
An alternate universe of the 2nd Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2001.
Shouichi Ashikawa
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Agito.
- Composite Character: He began as the user of the G3-X suit, until his transformations into Exceed Gills led to him abandoning the G3 team. Later his transformation stabilizes and he becomes Agito. Thus he is all three Agito Riders, though not simultaneously.
- It's Not You, It's My Enemies: He ran away from the police because his evolution into Exceed Gills was attracting the Lords' attention and he didn't want Yashiro getting hurt.
- Meaningful Name: He has the given name of the original Agito (Shouichi Tsugami), and his family name is a mix of that of Gills' and G3's (Ryou Ashihara and Makoto Hikawa).
World of Den-O
The world of the 8th Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2007. Unlike other universes, this seems to be the original Den-O universe, so information about the characters can be found on that show's Character page.
World of Kabuto
An alternate universe of the 7th Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2006.
Souji
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Kabuto.
- Big Brother Instinct: Goes out of his way to protect his sister Mayu, even when he's stuck in Clock Up.
- Character Development: Grandma says that Souji used to be a Jerkass (like his original counterpart) but she raised him better.
- Power Incontinence: His Clock Up malfunctions, meaning he cannot easily control it.
Arata
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Gatack.
Sou
An alternate version of Kamen Rider /.
- Big Bad: Of the Kabuto arc.
- Evil Twin: A Worm who took on the form of Souji.
- Eyepatch of Power: Wears one because Kabuto slashed out one of his eyes.
World of Hibiki
An alternate universe of the 6th Heisei era Kamen Rider, established in 2005.

An alternate version of Kamen Rider Hibiki.
- And Then John Was a Zombie: He eventually transformed into Gyuki because of his desire for power.

- Morality Pet: Served as one to Daiki/Diend.
Ibuki
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Ibuki (though played by the same guy), who is the master of the Ibuki school.
- Blow You Away
- Slobs Versus Snobs: On the snobs end.
Akira/Amaki
An alternate version of Akira, Ibuki's apprentice. In Decade she becomes her own full-fledged Rider, Kamen Rider Amaki.
- The Gunslinger
- Sailor Earth: In Hibiki she borrowed Ibuki's Transformation Trinket once and transformed into a technically unnamed Rider[17]; Decade makes her a full-fledged Oni Rider.
Zanki
An alternate version of Kamen Rider Zanki (again, played by the same guy). Master of the Zanki school.
- Shock and Awe
- Slobs Versus Snobs: On the slobs end, comparatively.
Todoroki
Zanki's apprentice.
- Ship Tease: Implied to have a thing for Akira/Amaki.
Other characters
Narutaki/Colonel Zol
A guy in a hat and coat who follows the group around, pitting enemies against them and ranting about how everything is Decade's fault. That's about it.
- Cassandra Truth: He travels the multiverse warning people that Decade is going to destroy them all. Since Tsukasa is trying to help people, it looks like it's just bluster. Subverted two ways: Tsukasa is going to destroy the multiverse, but that's actually a good thing. Also, Narutaki is Colonel Zol of Super Shocker, suggesting that he told a Jedi Truth to get Decade killed so they could take over.
- Catch Phrase: "ONORE Decade!"
- Enemy Summoner: He's no threat to any of the main characters physically, so he either summons Riders / monsters to fight for him or convinces people that Decade's a threat.
- Evil Laugh
- Large Ham
- Nice Hat
- The Unfought
Daiki Kaito/Kamen Rider Diend Diend
The second original Rider for the series, a dimension-hopping thief who looks out for no-one but himself (at first, anyway). He comes from a world ruled by monsters who brainwashed the population, including his own brother.
- The Atoner
- Barrier Warrior: Diend: Barrier
- Big Brother Mentor: Becomes this to Asumu, who brings out a nicer side of him.
- Combination Attack: The Diend: Crossattack Attack Ride card lets two summoned Riders do this.
- Doppelganger Attack: The Diend: Illusion Attack Ride card.
- Enemy Summoner
- Even Evil Has Standards: Detests those who take the freedom of others, and is willing to bail out Tsukasa and co. if he feels he owes them.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: At first. He assumes that the "greater treasure" Tsukasa was talking about in Faiz's world was a better Rider belt, and doesn't get why Tsukasa is so bent on getting Geist's Perfecter and saving "Natsumelon".
- Finishing Move: Dimension Shoot
- Blue Strike: His Rider Kick.
- Diend Complete Form: Enhanced Dimension Shoot
- Diend has also done some finishers with Final Form Rides.
- Kiva Arrow: Diend Fang
- Blade Blade: Diend Edge
- Heel Face Turn
- Invisibility: Diend: Invisible
- Irony: He loves poking at Tsukasa's distaste for sea cucumber, but the live shows have a Running Gag where eating sea cucumber causes Diend to flip out and start shooting up the place.
- Meaningful Name
- Mythology Gag: The treasures he stole from the various worlds were originally items exclusive to that series' movie (the Orga Gear, the G4 microchip, et cetera). This makes a kind of psuedo-sense when you consider that Kaito himself is from a world based on a movie continuity, Kamen Rider Blade's Missing Ace movie. This gets dropped quite quickly, but his obsession with movie continuities comes back with his Complete Form, which features movie-exclusive Riders.
- The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: He claims this is why he goes along with Tsukasa for the final fight with Apollo Geist.
- Phantom Thief
- The Rival
- Second Rider
- Super Mode: Diend gets his very own Complete Form during the events of Cho Den-O Trilogy: Episode Yellow. As a movie-exclusive form, it summons an entire team of movie-exclusive Riders and lets him use all their finishers at once.
- Super Speed: When using the Tesla Bands on his wrists.
- Weapon of Choice
- Handguns: Diendriver, which also functions as his Transformation Trinket.
- Shapeshifter Weapon: Diend has used some Final Form Ride cards.
- The Archer: Kiva Arrow
- BFS: Blade Blade
- Word of Gay: Apparently, and this is a quote. "Loves Tsukasa. Like Boys Love."
Kamata/Kamen Rider Abyss/Paradoxa Undead
An enigmatic man with the power of Kamen Rider Abyss, with Abysshammer and Abysslasher as his Contract Monsters. Revealed to be who killed the alternate version of Reiko Momoi, and thus the Big Bad of Ryuki World. However, after Decade and Ryuki defeat him, he is revealed to be the previously unseen Paradoxa Undead.
- Alien Blood: The first hint he isn't all he seems.
- Big Bad: Of Ryuki World but also has a large role in Blade World.
- Everything's Even Worse with Sharks
- Fusion Dance: he has two Contract Monsters, Abysshammer and Abyssslasher, that can combine into Abyssodon.
- Making a Splash: With his Strike Vent card.
- Sailor Earth: The 14th Ryuki Rider as well as an Undead that was name-checked but not shown in Blade.
- Weapon of Choice: Dual-Wielding Cool Sword (the Abyssabers)
Apollo Geist
A representative of Dai Shocker, who extends his own dwindling lifespan by stealing the life-force of others. After Dai Shocker is crushed in All Riders, he marries the Fangire Queen to increase his powers and starts accelerating the collision of worlds. Thanks to Tsukasa and Kaitou, he doesn't last long enough to be part of Super Shocker.
- Immortality Immorality
- Life Drain
- Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me
- Original Generation: While Apollo Geist is an established character, in Decade he gains power from the Fangire and becomes Super Apollo Geist in the final arc.
- Throwing Your Shield Always Works: In theory.
- ↑ Utchari, a Sumo lifting strike
- ↑ Tōrisugari no Kamen Raidā da, oboeteoke!
- ↑ The Climax Heroes fighting game shows an alternate version where the opponent is transported to a projection of the Rider Multiverse and instead of cards, Decade leaps through the emblems of the nine previous Riders (with Decade's emblem appearing behind the enemy to hold them in place).
- ↑ Kuuga Gouram grabs the enemy and flies them towards Decade, who executes his own version of the Mighty Kick.
- ↑ The Kiva Arrow's tip opens a'la Kiva's Hell's Gate and Decade fires a red energy arrow with the power of the Darkness Moon Break.
- ↑ Decade, with Ryuki Dragredder's assistance, performs Ryuki's Dragon Rider Kick.
- ↑ The Blade Blade charges with lightning and Decade releases a Sword Beam like Blade King Form's Royal Straight Flush.
- ↑ Decade traps the enemy with an energy drill like Faiz's Crimson Smash, then fires a giant beam from the Faiz Blaster.
- ↑ Agito Tornador grows an energy ram resembling Agito's Cross Horn emblem and charges through the enemy.
- ↑ Momotaros performs a version of the Extreme Slash; the one time it's used, the DenGasher's blade sticks into Kuuga Gouram's "butt" and Momo uses it as a giant bludgeon.
- ↑ The arcade game Ganbaride gives Decade his own version of this, in which four-color doppelgangers of Decade ride energy rails and attack the enemy in a fashion reminiscent of Den-O Liner Form's four different Train Slash attacks before the real Decade finishes them off with his version of the Fullthrottle Break.
- ↑ Zecter Kabuto rams the enemy high into the sky, the lands and transforms back into Kabuto; he and Decade then perform their respective Rider Kicks while in Clock Up.
- ↑ Hibiki Akanetaka rams the enemy before turning into a giant Taiko; Decade then uses it to perform a version of Hibiki's finishers.
- ↑ The three Riders perform their own version of Double's Joker Extreme.
- ↑ Kisama! Nani mono nanda?!
- ↑ All Riders vs. Daishocker, World of Diend, and Movie Wars
- ↑ Officially called just "Akira Transformed State"
