Atsuko Tanaka
An earlier seiyuu which gained very substantial fame due to her role as Major Motoko Kusanagi, the anime ur-Action Girl, as well as her impersonation of video game icon Lara Croft. Atsuko Tanaka is well known for her cool, deep, sometimes very alluring voice, which usually lands her roles of strong, professional women. However, this can be twisted, and she does evil villainesses just as well. She's still active to this day.
Her Western equivalent may be Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, who's dubbed four of her roles to date including Motoko Kusanagi.
Atsuko Tanaka has performed in the following roles:
- Lara Croft in Tomb Raider (2-6. The first was done by Megumi Ogata and 7 was done by Takako Honda.)
- Major Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell (all incarnations)
- Claudette in Queen's Blade
- Professor Kiyama Harumi of A Certain Scientific Railgun.
- Trish in Devil May Cry: The Animated Series
- This contiues to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
- Mika Ayanokouji in Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora
- Chun Li and Poison in Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Namco X Capcom. She also did Regina of Dino Crisis' fame in the latter.

- Opera Vectra in Star Ocean: Second Evolution (succeeding Yuko Nagashima)
- Viletta Vadim in Super Robot Wars Alpha and Super Robot Wars Original Generation series

- Caster in Fate/stay night (Notable that she's usually on Atsuko's usual style of mystery and mature. But then in Carnival Phantasm, she turns it around and made her utterly Moe, complete with super cute sound. Yes, she does Moe just fine.)
