Flora & Ulysses (film)

Flora & Ulysses is an upcoming American family film based on the children's novel of the same name by Kate DiCamillo and directed by Lena Khan from a screenplay written by Brad Copeland. It stars Matilda Lawler, Alyson Hannigan, Ben Schwartz, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Danny Pudi.

Premise

A girl named Flora Buckman adopts a squirrel she names Ulysses, who happens to possess super powers.

Production

On May 31, 2018, it was announced that Disney was developing a film adaptation of Kate DiCamillo's novel Flora & Ulysses for their streaming service Disney+, with Brad Copeland writing the script.[1]

On June 13, 2019, Alyson Hannigan and Ben Schwartz were cast as Flora's parents. Gil Netter is producing the project.[2] On June 27, 2020, Lena Khan was announced as director, Matilda Lawler was cast in the titular role of Flora Buckman, and Benjamin Evans Ainsworth and Danny Pudi were also added to the cast as filming began in Vancouver.[3] Filming wrapped on August 23, 2019.[4]

Release

It is scheduled to be released in 2020, exclusively on Disney+.[5]
