Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is in Pitampura, New Delhi, India. It is a private college, affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).[1] The college admits students through CLAT ranking and also has a management quota.

History

The institute was established by S. C. Vats following a meeting he had with Swami Jitatmananda in 1997 who told him he should establish an institute of higher education in New Delhi in the name of Swami Vivekananda.[2]

Admission Processes

Admissions at VIPS are on the basis on the merit of the candidate drawn on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by GGSIPU. For all courses covered under CET, the university prepares a list of candidates in the order of merit in each category.

Recognition and accreditation

VIPS is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).[3] It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an "A" grade.[4]

Infrastructure VIPS has an eco-friendly lush green campus spreading over five acres of land. The institute is an ultra-modern, centrally air-conditioned edifice with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled supported with Cloud Computing powered ‘Learning Management Systems’. Class Rooms are well it with natural light and equipped with Smart Boards and Projectors for enhanced learning experience.


Award

Vivekananda Award With an aim to promote renewed interest, particularly among the youth, in values, thoughts and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, who conceived education as a primary means of rebuilding the Nation, VIPS has instituted Annual Endowment Lecture series delivered by an eminent personality who connects directly with the students and faculty. The eminent person to deliver the lecture is selected every year, by a jury, is also conferred Vivekananda Lifetime Achievement Award for his/her contribution for social uplift.

Over the years, the college has carved a niche for itself and is known to be one of the leading colleges of university. The college offers the following courses:
