USC Upstate Spartans
The USC Upstate Spartans are the seventeen sports teams representing the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina in intercollegiate athletics. The Spartans compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Big South Conference since 2018. Their mascot is sparty the spartan

On November 15, 2017, it was announced that USC-Upstate would be leaving the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Spartans will join the Big South Conference effective July 1, 2018. The move was pending a December 19 vote by the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees, according to news reports.[2]
