Station mascot

Each station on the Asa Line features a cartoon mascot character designed by Takashi Yanase, a local cartoonist from Kōchi Prefecture. The mascot for Tateda Station is a girl in a blue flight attendant's uniform named Tateda Sorakochan (たてだ そらこちゃん). A statue of this mascot is located near the steps leading to the platform. The toilet building nearby also shares the aviation theme by having decorative propellors protruding from the roof. The choice of theme is based on the fact that Tateda near to Kōchi Airport.[6]

History

The train station was opened on 1 July 2002 by the Tosa Kuroshio Railway as an intermediate station on its track from Gomen to Nahari.[7]

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2011, the station was used by an average of 24 passengers daily.[7]

gollark: Oh, the SSDs are probably sensible then.
gollark: It might be more if you buy enterprise ones instead of random consumer ones.
gollark: I don't think it works out in favour of SSDs unless you anticipate them saving you issues about three times.
gollark: You mentioned valuing your time at $200/hour earlier. This is about 44TB of storage, assuming it's all 4TB disks. That costs about $4400 (for flash) based on my rough knowledge of pricing.
gollark: I suppose.
