St. Charles County Police Department
The St. Charles County Police Department (SCCPD) is the primary and largest law enforcement agency serving St. Charles County, Missouri. The current Chief of Police is Colonel Kurt Frisz. According to the Charter of St. Charles County, the county police chief has all of the criminal law enforcement duties of the sheriff of St. Charles County, except for the operation of the St. Charles County Jail, which is handled by the St. Charles County Department of Justice Services (civilian), court bailiff and service of civil process. Court bailiff/civil process duties are provided by a court-appointed sheriff and his employees, none of whom have law enforcement powers.

The St. Charles County Police Department was established in 2015.
Bureau of Special Enforcement
Metro Air Unit
In 2004, the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department, the Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis, and the St. Louis County Police Department joined together to share resources and created the Metro Air Support. In 2007, the fleet included six helicopters, one fixed-wing airplane, six pilots, and eight crew chiefs.[1]
St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team
The St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team is a regional team that encompasses members from the county law enforcement agencies, under the direction of the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department.
The objective of the St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team is to maintain a specially trained unit of officers for the purpose of responding to complex, difficult and unique situations, typically of a life threatening nature, where advanced training and the use of non-typical weapons and tactics may be required.
The purpose of the St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team is to support law enforcement agencies within the county of St. Charles and any other requesting law enforcement agency with a tactical response to critical incidents.
