History

It opened in September 1968. It was formed from Heywood Grammar School and the Bamford Road and Hornby Street secondary modern schools. It was originally to be the new site of the grammar school. The former site of the grammar school on Hind Hill Street became the Hind Hill Centre. It was demolished in 2006 and is now the Phoenix Centre.

Building Schools for the Future

Siddal Moor has allocated money for the refurbishment and rebuild. The project includes a new building at the front for teaching and administration with the rest of the school being refurbished. The project was scheduled to be finished for April 2011.

Battle Of The Performing Houses

Battle Of The Performing Houses is a yearly competition which raises money for charity that usually occurs in March of each year. The competition is surrounded around the four houses (Lewis, Moore, Redgrave & Thompson). There are auditions for places in the final as well as many rehearsals and dress rehearsals. This year (2016) there were three winners for the three categories - "Solo", Duo" and "Alternative" the winners were (as of the categories) - Natalia Jacques (Solo) who sang "Gravity", Hermoine Ditchfield & Rebecca Freeman (Duo) (dancers) & Max Wood (Alternative) (R&B / Hip-Hop Dancer)

gollark: You're actually reading at least 36 antimemes per second. You just forgot.
gollark: It's the perfect choice for command line tools (you don't need environment variables or anything for that, no), web applications (sockets are also not actually a thing which exist), data science (data is just lists, right? osmarkslisp™ is great at lists), or systems applications (I am attempting to get it into the Linux kernel in place of BPF).
gollark: osmarkslisp™ features:- tail call optimization (Python lacks this for bee reasons)- strings, somewhat- very fast (sorts a 200-element list of integers in mere seconds)- intuitive syntax with 912571897189274 brackets- no macros, but still really minimal builtin operations- approximately functional scope
gollark: osmarkslisp™ *does* have APIs to access GTech™ solar sites.
gollark: osmarkslisp™, yes.
