Shin River (Chiba Prefecture, Japan)

The Shin River (新川, Shin-gawa) is a river in Yachiyo and Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The river is 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) in length. The Shin River forms the upper part of the Inba Discharge Channel (印旛放水路, Inba Hōsuiro), and flows between Lake Inbanuma and the Ōwada Drainage Pump Station in Yachiyo City. Pollution is problematic along the river. Phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen drain from vegetable farms along the length of the river.[1]

Recreation

A large-scale bicycle path, the Inbanuma Bicycle Path, is under construction to span the entirety of the Inba Discharge Channel. The path will ultimately pass through Chiba City, Yachiyo, Sakura, and Inba. A 19 kilometers (12 mi) walking path has also been built in Yachiyo along the Shin River, and features a pedestrian suspension bridge with an observation platform.[2]

gollark: Here is a meme. There will be no more memes until a later time.
gollark: I mean, technically you're all just being simulated on my laptop, for purposes.
gollark: A randomly generated brain could randomly have that as one of its memories.
gollark: I'm aware of the concept. However:- why are you randomly adding spatial dimensions- "god" has a lot of connotations. If it can't actually do anything to things, it is not very god.> Didn’t they say that all the galaxies in the universe are connected in a similar way to neurons in a Brain? They're arranged in a vaguely webby structure IIRC.
gollark: Arguably, if something cannot interact with you at all, it doesn't exist.
