Sayyid Muhammad Jifri Muthukkoya Thangal

Sayyid Muhammad Jifri Muthukkoya Thangal is the President of Samastha Kerala Jem Iyyathul Ulema, the largest Muslim organisation[1] in Kerala, India. He was selected as the President in January, 2017, following the death of Kumaramputhur AP Muhammed Musliyar in 2016.[2][3][4]

Early life

Sayyid Muhammad Jifri Muthukkoya Thangal was born in Kolappuram village of Malappuram district in Kerala state in March 1957 to parents who are Hussain Jifri Pookunji Thangal (Father) and Fathima Cheriya Beevi Jamalullaili (Mother). He is a direct descendant of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, through his grandson Hussein. He married to Fathmat Muthu Beevi.[5]
