Gametogony, like merogony, occurs principally in leucocytes and thrombocytes and to a lesser extent in the erythrocytes. Again no pigment is produced.
Nothing is currently known about parasitic forms outside the blood.
Hosts
The only known host is the spectacled caiman (Caiman crocodilus crocodilus).
Geographic distribution
This genus has been described in South America.
gollark: No, I mean you can't run it on the client side in a web application. You can run Python programs if you download them, but not "on a webpage".

gollark: I wrote some code yesterday and on Friday for a project. *Today* I wanted to make some changes to it, decided I didn't like it, and may have to rewrite it. Yay programming!
gollark: Indeed.
