Presidential Staff Office (Indonesia)

Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Indonesian: Kantor Staf Presiden Republik Indonesia) is non-structural government agency directly under and report to President of Indonesia. The office is headed by a Chief of Staff. Previously, the office was named Unit of Presidential Staff (Unit Staf Kepresidenan) based on the Presidential Decree No.29/ 2014.[1] The current name began to be used based on Presidential Decree No.26/ 2015 dated 23 February 2015 due to expansion in task and function of the office.[2]

Tasks and Functions

The Executive of the President's primary task is to provide support and assistance to President and Vice President of Indonesia on controlling national priority programs, politics and strategic issue management.[3] In order to perform task as mentioned above, the Office is performing the following functions:[3]

  1. Manage national priority programs to ensure the programs are aligned with the President's vision and mission.;
  2. Comprehensive dispute resolution on any national priority programs which encounter any obstacle/problem/dispute;
  3. Accelerate the national priority programs execution;
  4. Monitor the national priority programs progress;
  5. Manage strategic issues;
  6. Manage political communication strategy and disseminate information;
  7. Provide data and information analysis for strategic decision making;
  8. Execute administrative duty of the Executive Office of the President;
  9. Execute other function as assigned by the President.
