It is the channel's coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that prompt China Central Television to launch its own rolling news channel, CCTV-新闻 (now known as CCTV-13) in May Day 2003. At the time when the story broke, InfoNews was on-the-scene and provided reporting as the situation unfolded, whereas CCTV did not even report it for as many as two successive days.[1]
After more than years of operations on Astro and Kristal-Astro, Phoenix Info News Channel and Phoenix Chinese Channel has ended operations on Astro and Kristal-Astro at midnight, 1 July 2020 and replaced with TVB News Channel and TVBS News on 6 July 2020 at 6:00am but returned on new channels in 9 July 2020.
