As of 2001 India census,[2] Mataundh had a population of 8278. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mataundh has an average literacy rate of 69%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 57%, and female literacy is 35%. In Mataundh, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
