Personal life

Marcos is a pastor of the neo-Pentecostal Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.[2] Marcos married Regilene Mesquita in 1991 in the city of Manaus, with whom he has two children. He moved to in Acre with his family in August 2005.[2]

Political career

Marcos was elected to the city council of Rio Branco in 2012, and was re-elected in 2016. He has been the leader of the Brazilian Republican Party in the stae of Acre since 2008.[2]

In the 2018 Brazilian general election Marcos was elected to the federal chamber of deputies with 7,489 votes.[3][4]

Marcos is considered a strong supporter of welfare projects, having invested in education and the sewage system while in the city council. Owing to his evangelical beliefs he is considered conservative when it comes to social issues such as family values, same-sex-marriage, and abortion.[2]

gollark: Not really.
gollark: BUT those things would incur a bunch of cost - either financial or time - and I don't need high uptime enough to pay that.
gollark: As an example, osmarks.tk isn't up all the time. This is probably because it runs off my home internet connection and such, and partly because I do server migrations in ways which leave services down a bit. If I actually *needed* more than the current ~99% (okay I'm wildly guessing) uptime, there are many ways I could improve it.
gollark: You *want* 24/7 uptime, but trying to squeeze out increasingly high uptime means increasingly high costs.
gollark: Again, you brought up the "definition" first.
